"But I don't want to go among mad people," Alice remarked. "Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice. "You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."

Narrowing it down

Okay, after today, we are much less stressed. Thank you, Meghan and Helen for your support, because I was not a happy camper last night.

I think we have narrowed it down. There may be heartbreak involved, but it is mainly because the Jetta is SO PRETTY!! Seriously, boys and girls, (hmmm, I suddenly realize I have a distinct lack of boy stalkers, what is up with that?) the pictures don't even begin to do this car justice. It is the second in the VW line after the Gold and yet it feels like a luxury car when you get in it!

Anyway, it is a bit out of our range. That is, the range that includes leather seats and a moonroof. But we are considering. Yes, we are.

The other option is a Ford Escape. We have a friend who works for Ford, so we can get a very, VERY good deal for this vehicle. And while it is not as dazzling as the Jetta, it is very comfortable and fun to drive. Plus the red version is really pretty, too.

Grant is waiting to hear from the insurance company how much they are going to take us for give us in replacement value. Then we will make our decision.

I am finally excited!

The Jetta is a f*ck lot prettier than my Jetta was!

*fingers crossed for mucho money from the insurance company*

The Ford Escape is quite nice, too... but how is the gas mileage?

My first car was a Rabbit. There's a little spot right *there* in my heart for Volkswagons.

Hey, Al. The Escape is roomy and comfortable and all, and as for gas mileage, she's available as a hybrid, no? You could go that way. I test drove one once. Kind of cool, but a vehicle that weight kicks in to gas power pretty quickly and pretty often so the hybrid mileage wouldn't be as spectacular as say, the Prius. But also, don't you still have the CRV? Wouldn't an Escape be kind of redundant? Now, actually, don't laugh, I don't know how CR rates 'em, but if you're at the Ford dealer anyway, I think you should consider the Focus. Smart little car, it comes in various sizes/styles and it's priced right -- especially if you know someone at Ford (who still has a job).

I'd be tempted to go for the Ford, save some money and spend that saved money on a treat. Two new presents instead of one! :-D

Also- any time. [hugs]

Mond!!

I do have boy stalkers!! YaY!

I would totally drool over a hybrid of any kind, but the price point is very prohibitive here in Canada. And we don't get quite as good a tax break. I would definitely consider a Focus, but Grant turns up his nose at it. Just not glamorous, I guess. ;-)

^<-----Nose turned up at Focus. Jetta is not a pretty car. It's cool, luxuriuos, speedy and all that other guy kind of stuff. Heated seats, pinch resistant windows(cops can't get their head stuck in this baby)Leather, leather and more leather. No,I have not made up my mind. The insurance company will do that. IF THEY EVER CALL.
BTW It's me sweety. Kissssssssss
